Philosophy

For Ms. Dhaliwal...
----------------------
"And what shall we do, on this walk, O Sire-on-stilts?"
"Come along, my little girl, come along and we shall see."

And so they began this profound walk, soon to unfold, the Know-all
Wise Sire and the little girl. Sire wears a blazer and other formal
attire. Sire's tall by the way. Tall, though, would be an
understatement. By a mile. He is very tall. You see, he walks on
stilts. Some see them as crutches. Some see them as stilts. You
decide. And our little girl, is well, like every other happy little
girl. She belongs to what one might call a class apart, so to say.

"Listen, my lovely little girl,
time and waves they move in swirls,
and eddies they come,
and eddies they go,
an eddy i fear might soon come,
and might take me along on the go,
on the go,
so on this walk, as we go,
i'll discuss with you, my lovely little girl,
two questions of a bent philosophical,
i do not intend to,
preach to you,
just discuss with you,
what you feel is true...", says Sire-on-stilts.

"I must admit, O Sire-on-stilts,
what you just said confounds my wits,
though i do get the idea, O Sire,
so lets just walk that wire,
and so, go on along,
ask these questions that throng,
your know-all wise mind, O Sire", says the little girl, as they walk
along on a curved passageway among the clouds. Its made of wood
strips, each attached to the next, forming the path as our subjects
walk along their profound walk.

"First, my dear girl,
give your mind a twirl,
and tell me what comes to mind,
when your mind's keys you wind,
and say 'Morality' to it as you,
leave the key to unwind and as you,
give your mind that twirl..."

"Your talk to me, O Sire-on-stilts,
seems a little out of the blue at least,
but as you insist,
i ve given my mind a twist,
and this is what i think comes to mind,
when you talk of such a thing whirlwind,
a thing that sounds completely boring,
but an idea i guess that must be enduring,
'More-ality' to me O Sire,
brings up images O Sire,
of times when i, wanting more icecream,
scream, scream,
for more icecream,
and these images of scream,
and icecream,
assosciated with more-ness,
of icecream and happyness,
is what i guess this 'More-ality' of yours, O sire,
must mean, i am positive, O Sire."

Walking along the wood-strips passageway, among the clouds, the
Sire-on-stilts now speaks again,
"Hmmm, not exactly the answer i was seeking of thee,
well, anyways, lets keep on following this passage free,
though i was thinking more,
on the lines of whether,
morality is herd instinct or more,
and we as we move along,
in this place we throng,
O little girl, tell me,
second, what comes to mind,
when i say to thee,
the word 'Freedom', O my little girl..."

"Well, this time around,
your word does not sound,
as boring it did the first time around,
though even this time around,
it seems a little out of the blue at least,
however, giving my mind a tweak least,
i can see what you must have meant,
when this word you decided to foment,
it must be to do,
with when mother says true,
"A kiss for the right cheek, and one for the left,
and one 'free' for the forehead left."
and therefore, i conclude, O Sire-on-stilts,
that free-dom must have sumthing to do,
with the third free kiss, O Sire-on-stilts,
that my mother gives to me without any ado."

This time around, pausing as he absorbed what she just said, the
Know-all Wise Sire-on-stilts smiled to himself. Stood there for a good
3 minutes. And then, with a decisive sigh, removed the stilts on which
he was walking. He looked much less taller now. And he bent his knees
now, to reach face to face with the girl. And spoke, smiling still...
"O my lovely little girl,
i think for a twirl,
my mind was up until now,
the moment when i absorbed, just now,
that you my girl, know,
all there is to know,
for all that is important,
and much more, you know..."
