6 year old George popped his head around the no-door door, wondering what his 21 minutes older brother Jimmy was up to. Little kids wonder a lot. Now, now, before we go ahead, this room. Nothing special about it really, just that one, it's empty. Ya, really empty. Not a thing in it except little George and little Jimmy's little eyes and little nose and little ears and well, you know where this is going- his whole little head really. Two, it doesn't have any window. I really can't see the other three walls, so sorry, I can't say what colour they are. Three, there's no roof and mind you, the best winter sun's shining through.
"hey george (little kids don't give a crap about grammar, in fact jimmy will go ahead and use a question mark instead of that exclamation thing this time) ?", said Jimmy.
"ya?" George looked around at Jimmy.
Just a second. Sorry, forgot earlier. But you won't mind. This is interesting. The wall, ya, the one wall I can see, is white, simple, pure, white; without a shadow of that grey that so abounds out and about.
Little kids look incredulously at things a lot too. And that's what Jimmy was doing right now. Looking straight ahead, incredulously.
"come. you can sit with me here", said George and tapped on a white space on the white floor right beside where he was sitting cross-legged.
Now, now, picture this- a pair of little kids sitting on the floor, cross-(little)leg-ged, staring incredulously at the wall. Isn't that cute??!! (phonetically stretched) But, no. Mind it. No girlie adjective for anything to do with anything I write.
"george..."
"ya..."
"i want to be all grown up and be allowed to do all those things that grown-ups do."
"no you don't"
"but i do"
"growing up is not at all good, jimmy..."
"huh? why?"
"like you can't just mimick an ad or recite a poem or sing a song grown-ups ask you to and get what you want"
"you can't?"
"no."
"hmmm..."
"not even throw a tantrum. and, crying is no longer induced by inane reasons."
"huh? grown ups cry, george?"
"ha ha. yes they do. they cry more than little kids."
"hmmm..."
"things are no longer simple when you grow up, jimmy."
Little kids are smart.
